Class 6

Welcome to Class 6's website page!

Routines
1. Reading - The children are expected to read at least 4 times a week at home.  They will be bringing home their school reading book to read and a task to complete before their next guided reading session in school.  Please sign their planner every time they read at home, as then they can be entered into a draw to win a book each week (3 signatures minimum).
2. Spellings - every week your child will bring home a set of spellings to learn which relate to the spelling rule or letter pattern they have been learning in school.  There will also be a spelling task.
3. PE - PE lessons will be on Tuesday and Wednesday each week but can I remind you that children should have their kit at school every day please. Also, a reminder that school kit is white t-shirt, black shorts and trainers.

’Lard’ production.

All children should have received their scripts now if they have a longer speaking part In the production. We will begin rehearsals very soon and will let the children know what costumes they need to have.

Bikeability

The children know which dates to bring their bikes into school and you should have the letter with that information on.  We start next week (23rd and 25th May). On Monday every child will take the Highway Code test (10 -12 questions). The homework for this weekend is to read the ‘Tales of the Road’ document.  The link is below:

Back to normal...
With the tests over we can finally get back to a bit of normality in class! Today we are investigating Royal Weddings and next week we will be mainly doing science as part of ‘science enrichment week’.

I would also also like to investigate diversity and have asked the children to think about people they know that do a job traditionally done by the opposite sex, e.g. female builders, male nurses etc.  If you can help at all with this we’d love to hear from you!
